
When you talk about "Good, Response-Pulling Ads", you're talking about ads that "go above and beyond the call of duty!"
Most of the time, ads you place will barely pull enough orders or inquiries to make it to the "break even" point,.. much less work hard enough to make you a profit!
What you NEED are "hard-working ads"; Ads which will catch the eye of the prospective buyers and make them WANT to send you an order or inquiry.
To do that, your ad must be well written and attractive, but it also must SHOUT to the reader to Take action NOW!!
That's a tall order, but, it can be done! First, to Grab the reader's ATTENTION,.. you need an eye-catching headline. Many readers will skim over the ads, waiting 'til their attention settles on a headline. If your headline, or the first word or two of your ad DOESN'T STOP THE READER & make them want to read more, they'll move on to other ads, and spend their money elsewhere!
If possible, put the word "FREE" in the headline! FREE is still the NUMBER 1 best word to use in your ads! If you offer something FREE, tell your readers right up there in the headline!!
Make the headline "white-on-black" (known as a "Reverse") which helps to make the reader notice your ad, because it's different than most of the other "black-on-white" ads!! AND most ads are dull and ordinary,... But YOUR AD must "stand out",... to catch the reader's attention,.. to stop the reader & make him read it!! Keep your message short and to the point. Keep the words simple and easy to read!
Try to say TOO MUCH, and the reader will be confused! Try to impress your readers with big words,... and they'll stop reading and go on to other, simpler ads!
All you should be trying to do is to get the reader to respond,.. to send for more information;... to order your free sample,.. to send for their free copy! That's all!!
The FEWER NUMBER of words in your ad, the better! Just tell the reader what you have;.. what it's called;.. tell them how to get it and tell them to do it right away! And you'll get lots of inquiries! (Then quickly send them what they have requested! And send along a few of your other offers, too!)
